Made a couple of business purchases today.
I finally put in an order with Dell on a new laptop for Lisa. Her existing one, a Compaq Presario, with one of them dogged Celeron processors, was just too damn slow trying to run Quickbooks. The thing would heat up and shut down due to excessive heat.
We also bought her an XM Radio, the Audiovox XR9. It was a cheap, only $50.00, and we got the home kit with it ($20.00). Of course, this meant having to buy some speakers too. I got it all set up in Lisa's office, and activated it through XM. You have to call XM on the phone in order to get it added to the Family Plan.
Now she can listen to her favorite old time radio shows while balancing the books.
Both the laptop and XM radio are business purchases, and is going on the corporate card.
In other news, I managed to finish creating the blog for Interment.net. The blog is actually a replacement for the old "Cemetery Column", where I would write articles about genealogy and cemeteries. The reason for replacing it with a blog is because Blogger can automate so many of the manual tasks associated with publishing static HTML articles, and because I wanted to boost the SEO to Interment.
This actually brings the blogs within the Interment site to two. There was already a blog running the "What's New" portion of the site. Hopefully by adding another blog with rich content will prevent the roller-coaster traffic patterns coming in from Google.
