In the Winter 2005 issue of Revenue magazine, editor Lisa Picarille writes an article about a man named Malcolm Lubliner, who's quest is to monetize his photography website with affiliate marketing programs.
He's knows nothing about affiliate marketing, and sets out to read various websites and magazines about the subject. One of the things he mentions is that while there are many resources claiming to help people with affiliate programs, none of them provide any "nuts and bolts":
That's when he made the decision to conduct his own research. He spent hours scouring the Internet, doing Google searches, and what he found is that "nobody tells you the nuts and bolts."Quite true! Everyone tells me to go to WebmasterWorld.com for all the details. What I find there is that there are no details. Just jabber-jabber. Brent Tabke, who runs WebmasterWorld prohibits the posting of links to outside resources, perhaps as a way to encourage users to write out details. But that's just it, no webmaster or affiliate marketer wants to provide any details. What good is WebmasterWorld when it doesn't provide any nuts and bolts?

This has turned out to be a more significant subject in the AM environment than expected. One important correction; For several years Cityvisions.com had been the site for my commercial photography work. When I started the magazine, my goal was to produce a public service site with beneficial information about urban living.
